1. Who we are

This policy is published by Standard Gauge, LLC, a California limited liability company at 505 Montgomery Street, 10th Floor, San Francisco, CA 94111, United States. Standard Gauge is a fractional CTO practice. You can reach us at info@standardgauge.ai.

2. What this policy covers

This policy covers the website at standardgauge.ai and email you send to us. It does not cover work performed under a client engagement. That work is governed by the consulting agreement signed with the client, which controls confidentiality and the handling of anything we see inside their environment.

3. What this website collects

Very little. The site is a set of static pages. It has no accounts, no sign-up forms, no comment fields, and no advertising. We do not set cookies and we do not run analytics or tracking scripts.

The site is served by Cloudflare, Inc. To deliver and protect it, Cloudflare processes standard connection data such as your IP address, browser type, the pages requested, and the time of the request, and keeps short-lived server logs. Cloudflare acts as our service provider and handles that data under its own privacy policy.

4. Email you send us

If you write to us, we receive your email address, your name if you include it, and whatever you choose to say. We use it to reply and to keep a record of the correspondence. Our email is hosted on Microsoft 365, which acts as our service provider.

5. How we use information

To operate and secure this website and to respond to you. We do not sell personal information, we do not share it for advertising, and we do not use it to build profiles.

6. Who we share it with

Only the service providers named above (Cloudflare for hosting, Microsoft for email), and only so they can provide those services to us. We may also disclose information if the law requires it or to protect our rights or the public.

7. How long we keep it

Correspondence is kept for as long as it is useful to the conversation it belongs to, and then deleted. Server logs are retained by Cloudflare under its standard retention schedule.

8. Your rights

You can ask what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Write to info@standardgauge.ai and we will respond within thirty days. If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act gives you these rights by law; we honor them for everyone regardless of where you live. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined in that Act, and we do not discriminate against anyone for exercising their rights.

9. Children

This website is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them through it. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

10. Changes to this policy

When we change this policy we will post the new version here and update the date at the top.
